Our Mission

Learn about S.T.A.R.'s mission to support students affected by drug abuse and mental health challenges, raise awareness, and advocate for a more compassionate and resourceful campus.

Our Story-1

Our story

S.T.A.R. is a young student-led initiative at San Jose State University, dedicated to supporting fellow students in their challenges of mental health and drug abuse. Today we're working to build an inclusive community and well supported team.

Our values

At S.T.A.R., we believe in compassion, advocacy, and empowerment. We strive to create a supportive community and break the stigma surrounding addiction and the need to reach out for support.  We push for meaningful change and support. Through awareness and action, we stand by students and their path to resilience and better health.

Our Values
History

Our history

S.T.A.R. is a newly founded movement at San Jose State University, created by students who see the greater need for support around mental health and drug abuse. We are a small initiative and wish to grow into a larger community-driven effort to break stigmas, providing advocacy for change. Although our journey is just beginning, Our Mission is clear.
To ensure no student faces their struggles alone.
